COLUMBUS — Ohio State rounded out its 2026-27 roster Friday by signing Argentine forward Lee Aaliya, adding an experienced international player to Jake Diebler's frontcourt.

The 6-foot-9, 225-pound Aaliya arrives in Columbus after competing professionally in Argentina and Spain while also spending the past three years with Argentina's senior national team. His résumé includes appearances in the FIBA AmeriCup and FIBA Basketball World Cup qualifiers, giving the Buckeyes a player with experience beyond the college level.

"Lee is an energetic big who I am excited to have join our Buckeye family," Diebler said. "His experience, athleticism and physicality make him a valuable addition to our program."

Last season, Aaliya played for UCAM Murcia in Spain's Liga ACB, averaging 18.4 points and 9.6 rebounds while shooting nearly 60 percent from the floor. Before that, he helped Atenas de Córdoba reach the Final Four of the South American Basketball Champions League. He also starred for Argentina at the 2023 FIBA U19 World Cup, averaging 17.1 points and 9.0 rebounds over seven games.

Aaliya fills Ohio State's final scholarship spot heading into the season and gives the Buckeyes another experienced option in a frontcourt that has undergone significant changes this offseason. Rather than relying solely on youth, Ohio State adds a player who has already competed against seasoned professionals and on the international stage.
