COLUMBUS — Ohio State went into one of the toughest environments in college football Saturday and left Iowa City with a convincing ranked win. Now, the Buckeyes are giving fans a closer look at how the afternoon unfolded.
Ohio State released its latest cinematic recap, “2026 Ohio State Football: Game 5 Recap - Defining Moment,” following the Buckeyes’ 31-14 victory over No. 14 Iowa at Kinnick Stadium. The video takes viewers inside the locker room, onto the sideline, and behind the scenes as Ohio State improved to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the Big Ten.
Jeremiah Smith takes center stage after another remarkable afternoon. The junior caught 11 passes for 206 yards and two touchdowns, becoming Ohio State’s career leader in both receptions and receiving touchdowns. Smith now owns the school records for career receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns.
The recap also highlights a defense that answered the challenge after allowing 199 rushing yards against Illinois one week earlier. Iowa managed just 39 yards on the ground, while Ohio State held the Hawkeyes to 238 total yards.
There is plenty beyond the game action, including Ryan Day challenging his team before kickoff, defensive coordinator Matt Patricia’s intensity on the sideline, and center Carson Hinzman offering his teammates an unusual history lesson before the Buckeyes took the field:
