COLUMBUS — Ohio State picked up its biggest win of the season Saturday, defeating fifth-ranked Indiana, 19-15, in Bloomington. The win snapped the defending national champions' 22-game winning streak and gave the Buckeyes some revenge for last season's Big Ten Championship Game loss.
Now, Ohio State is giving fans another look at the victory with its latest cinematic game recap, highlighting a physical matchup that wasn't decided until the closing minutes.
Quarterback Julian Sayin completed 15 of 29 passes for 235 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions before leaving with an injury. Both touchdown passes came on fourth down, including a two-yard throw to Bo Jackson just before halftime and a 38-yard connection with Jeremiah Smith early in the fourth quarter.
The Buckeyes also received a big-time performance from their improving defense, which forced two Indiana fumbles in the third quarter. Ohio State held the Hoosiers to 73 rushing yards, while kicker Connor Hawkins made field goals from 26 and 29 yards.
Indiana cut Ohio State's lead to four points with just over 10 minutes remaining, but the Buckeyes held on when Nick Marsh stepped out of bounds on Indiana's last offensive play to improve to 6-1 overall and 4-0 in Big Ten play. The victory was Ohio State's second road win over a ranked opponent this season.
The Buckeyes have a bye this Saturday before traveling to USC on October 31. With Sayin sidelined, Ohio State will use the extra week to prepare its offense for the remainder of the season.
