COLUMBUS — Four Columbus Crew first-team players have been called up for international duty during the September/October FIFA window, with Nicholas Hagen, Cole Mrowka, Chase Adams and Gonzalo Tapia all representing their respective countries.
Hagen is with Guatemala, Mrowka is representing the Philippines, Adams joins the United States U19 team and Tapia was selected by Chile. The Crew also has four Academy players on youth national-team assignments: Jamil Danjaji, Gianmarco Di Noto, Immanuel Ewing and Prince Forfor.
Adams is in Spain with the U.S. U19s for a training camp running through Oct. 6. The Americans face Wales on Sept. 29, England on Oct. 2 and Norway on Oct. 5. The 18-year-old forward has 20 goals and three assists in 23 U.S. youth appearances and has continued to build his profile in Columbus this season. He became the youngest goalscorer in Crew MLS history earlier this year and has also scored 10 goals in 20 MLS NEXT Pro appearances for Crew 2.
Hagen is back with Guatemala after reaching 59 senior appearances for his country. Guatemala faced Jamaica on Sept. 25 and hosts El Salvador on Sept. 28 in Concacaf Nations League play. The 30-year-old goalkeeper has made six appearances for Columbus this season and recorded two clean sheets during the Crew’s run to the U.S. Open Cup Final.
Mrowka is competing with the Philippines at the FIFA ASEAN Cup in Indonesia. He appeared for 11 minutes in the Philippines’ opener against Vietnam and remains with the squad for matches against Pakistan on Sept. 29 and Thailand on Oct. 2. Mrowka has one goal and one assist in seven international appearances.
Tapia joins Chile for a pair of friendlies against Canada and the United States. The forward has 12 senior caps, three goals and two assists for Chile since making his senior debut in 2024. Since joining Columbus in August, Tapia has made five regular-season appearances and scored his first Crew goal against Colorado on Sept. 5.
The Crew’s Academy representation is also significant. Di Noto, Ewing and Forfor are with the United States U17 team in Spain as preparations continue for the 2026 FIFA U17 World Cup, while Danjaji is participating in a separate U.S. U17 camp for players born in 2010. Danjaji scored in the Americans’ 4-1 win over Scotland on Sept. 26.
The international assignments stretch across North America, South America, Europe and Asia, giving Columbus representation at both the senior and youth levels during the break.
