CINCINNATI — Jonathan Allen has already become one of the more recognizable voices on Cincinnati’s defense, and the Bengals’ latest mic’d-up video gives fans a closer look at why.
The Bengals released a video Wednesday featuring Allen during Sunday’s 22-17 loss to Jacksonville at Paycor Stadium. Allen finished the game with three tackles as Cincinnati fell to 2-2, but the video is less about the stat line than the personality and leadership he brings to the defensive front.
The video follows Allen on the field and sideline throughout a game that remained within reach until Cincinnati’s final possession, offering a closer look at his personality and interaction with teammates. It also offers a different perspective on a veteran who joined Cincinnati this season after nine years in Washington and Minnesota.
Allen has 12 tackles and two sacks through his first four games with the Bengals. His production has been steady, but his presence has also mattered for a defense that has been dealing with injuries and relying on several newer faces early in the season.
As you’ll see — and hear — Allen brings plenty of energy to the sideline, even during one of Cincinnati’s more frustrating afternoons of the young season:
