CINCINNATI — The Cincinnati Bengals made four roster moves Tuesday morning as they prepare to return from their bye week and face the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.
The team signed safety Russ Yeast from its practice squad to the active roster, added tight end Josh Kattus and linebacker Emany Johnson to the practice squad, and released safety Isaiah Nwokobia from the practice squad.
Yeast, a third-year player, has already appeared in two games for Cincinnati this season after being temporarily elevated from the practice squad. He recorded three tackles during those appearances.
His promotion provides additional depth in a Bengals secondary that has dealt with injuries throughout the season. Unlike his previous appearances as a temporary elevation, Yeast is now a member of the active roster.
Kattus returns to Cincinnati after spending the offseason and training camp with the Bengals. The 6-foot-4, 247-pound rookie played collegiately at Kentucky and originally signed with Cincinnati as an undrafted free agent in May.
The Bengals waived Kattus during final roster cuts on August 30, and he remained unsigned through the first six weeks of the regular season.
His return comes one day after Cincinnati placed tight end Tanner Hudson on injured reserve with a pectoral injury. While Kattus joins the practice squad rather than the active roster, his familiarity with the offense could be useful as the Bengals adjust to Hudson's absence.
Johnson, a 6-foot-2, 216-pound linebacker from Nevada, spent time with the Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Chargers after entering the NFL in 2024. He spent the entire 2025 season on the Chargers' practice squad but had not been with a team this season.
To make room on the practice squad, Cincinnati released Nwokobia, an undrafted rookie from SMU who joined the team September 29.
The Bengals enter Sunday's game against Baltimore at 3-2, looking to build on their 31-24 victory over Miami before the bye week. With the AFC North standings tightly packed, Cincinnati will be hoping its additional week of rest and preparation pays off against a division rival.
