MIAMI — FC Cincinnati and Inter Miami went into halftime tied 0-0 Wednesday night after a first half that featured few clear scoring opportunities. Both teams struggled to create chances, with Cincinnati's best opportunity coming in the 11th minute.
Following an Evander corner kick, Teenage Hadebe sent a header over the crossbar from the center of the penalty area. The opportunity carried a 23% expected-goals value, making it Cincinnati's most promising chance of the opening half.
Miami's Lionel Messi had two shots blocked by Cincinnati defenders, with Samuel Gidi stopping an attempt in the 32nd minute and Nick Hagglund blocking another in the 39th. Messi was also shown a yellow card.
Cincinnati had one final opportunity in first-half stoppage time, but Evander's right-footed attempt from outside the penalty area sailed over the crossbar. The Orange and Blue will look to create better scoring chances after halftime as they try to come away with a valuable road victory.
