CLEVELAND — Quincy Williams had himself quite an afternoon against his former team Sunday, and the Cleveland Browns are giving fans a closer look at the veteran linebacker's performance in their latest mic'd-up video.
The Browns released “Quincy Williams Mic'd Up: Week 5 vs. The New York Jets” on Tuesday, featuring Williams during Cleveland's frustrating 17-12 loss at MetLife Stadium. While the Browns ultimately fell to 3-2, Williams delivered one of the most impressive individual defensive performances of the season.
Williams finished with 11 tackles and three forced fumbles, repeatedly disrupting New York's offense and helping Cleveland remain competitive despite its struggles moving the football. The Browns' defense also recorded four sacks and eight tackles for loss, providing several opportunities for the offense to take control of the game.
Unfortunately, Cleveland couldn't capitalize. The Browns briefly took the lead in the fourth quarter on Deshaun Watson's 29-yard touchdown pass to rookie Denzel Boston, but a mishandled punt snap gave the Jets excellent field position. New York scored three plays later, handing Cleveland its second loss of the season.
For Williams, the performance was particularly notable because it came against the team where he began his NFL career. His aggressive play and relentless pursuit were among the few bright spots in an otherwise disappointing afternoon for Cleveland.
The mic'd-up feature gives fans another perspective on Williams during a game in which he was seemingly everywhere on the field. Watch the Browns' latest video below:
